Carla and Leo’s World of Dance Book Launch Party

Joann and I at Carla and Leo's World of Dance Book Launch PartyI had an amazing night at Carla and Leo’s World of Dance Book Launch Party at Swarovski Crystallized in New York City. I want to thank Matt Walker from Period Media and Faye Rogaski Founder, Fayeelizabeth Communications for finding my blog and inviting me. In addition special thanks to Agatha Relota the author of the book and whole reason for the night. Ms. Relota who was in attendance for the whole night graciously took pictures, did interviews and signed books for the event. Last but not least I want to thank my friend Joann who joined me at the event and if it wasn’t for her I probably would not have been able to attend because I rarely go into the City but this particular event warranted a special trip!

Joann and I joined other mommies at this wonderful children’s book launch party that featured Dancing Demonstrations from Dancing Classrooms which is a not-for-profit project of the American Ballroom Theater Company. It is an arts-in-education program teaching ballroom dance to the 5th, 8th and 12th grade students of participating schools. A portion of sales from the night at Swarovski were donated to Dancing Classrooms. The children from the program were very talented. They did demonstrations of the Waltz, Mambo, and other dances throughout the night. Dancing Classrooms also asked the kids in the audience to join in and learn the Macarena. The children in attendance enjoyed dancing with the Executive Director Pierre Dulaine learning the steps and letting loose on the dance floor. It is so important to support programs like this because their mission is to build social awareness, confidence and self-esteem in children through the practice of social dance.

The night also included complimentary champagne and finger foods made by the exquisite SWAROVSKI CRYSTALLIZED™ Café a luxurious small café in the back part of the store where they have pastries and other items for sale. The Café is a perfect spot for quick meetings and other little gatherings in the Soho area.

Now for a book review I will make a new blog entry. Thanks again to all those who made this night possible it really was great!
